LASIK Testimonials
I did have LASIK surgery at Commonwealth Eye Surgery. I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome. I am a 46 year old women and have worn glasses since I
was 7 years old. I remember after getting my first pair of glasses, I stepped outside with my mother I said, “Mommy the trees are so pretty”. Needless to
say, I needed glasses long before I received my first pair. My eyes were a little worse each time I went for my annual exam up until about the age of 35.
I was severely near sighted. The ‘E’ on the chart was not visible without correction. I made an appointment with your office for my free evaluation. I
knew it was Karma when the friendly technician asked me to remove my glasses and the hinge on my glasses broke and couldn’t be repaired. After a very
thorough exam I was told I was candidate for LASIK. I scheduled my surgery before I left. On the day of surgery I was more excited than nervous. The
surgery was quick and fairly painless. Dr. Ferguson helped me to sit up and the for the first time I knew I could see across the room. I can’t tell you
how emotional that was for me. Just that morning I had to put on my glasses to see the clock that was 2 feet from me on the night stand. It was really
just a miraculous experience. I felt that Dr. Ferguson was as excited for me as I was. I know he’s seen these same results many times before, but he
couldn’t have been more kind and didn’t try to minimize my experience and I knew at that moment that I had made the best decision I could have made. I
went home and followed Dr. Ferguson’s instructions to a tee. The next morning I opened my eyes for the first time since the surgery and I could SEE!. As
my husband was driving to the office for my post-op exam I was looking around like a kid in a candy shop. I never hoped to be corrected to 20/20, but I
was getting very excited, because I could see and I could see a good distance. The post-op went great. Not only was I 20/20 but the Dr. said he couldn’t
tell that I had surgery. All my follow up visits have been the same. Still 20/20 and no issues. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results and don’t
think I could find a more thorough, competent and compassionate group of doctors and professionals. It has been a life changing experience and I would
and have recommended Commonwealth Eye Surgery to my friends and family. Thank you for following up. It’s been a while since I’ve had the surgery and it’s
been great to tell the story one more time.—Statia Clay
Hi Chad,
I spoke with you on the phone well over a year ago now. I had my surgery around June 2008. In response to your points…….I am doing very well. At my
last check up I had 20/15 in both eyes. I could not have asked for better results. I am very happy with the decision I made and the support from
Commonwealth Eye Surgery. LASIK is definitely life changing. To engage in sports, socialize and enjoy my children and not worry about glasses or contacts
is a great feeling. I live in Ireland. My connection with Kentucky is through my wife Shelby, who is from Versailles. Over the past number of years I
contemplated LASIK but never felt fully comfortable with any provider in Ireland or even the UK, would you believe. My mother-in-law recommended I
inquire at Commonwealth Eye Surgery for the next time we visited the States. From the beginning, I had that comfort factor from speaking with you and
your colleagues. The straight forward pricing model was a great plus too. The openness, transparency and understanding from all staff at the centre
greatly helped me in making my final decision to proceed. In short, my Lasik experience at Commonwealth is one of the most fulfilling and awarding
experiences I have had in the medical field. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to Commonwealth Eye Surgery. The only thing that caught me off
guard was on the day of the surgery itself. I found the transition from the waiting room to the actual surgery theatre was very sudden. I had anticipated
that Dr Ferguson might run through things with me for a couple of minutes before surgery began as it was the first time I met him. However, I understand
the efficient setup which exists and my own nerves on the day probably magnified things slightly. Please say high all the staff and extend my gratitude.

My experience with Commonwealth Eye Surgery was extraordinary! Dr. Ferguson and his staff kept me informed and comfortable during the entire
process. 20 minutes later my life had changed. I knew I would enjoy the convenience of not having to deal with contacts and glasses, but I was not
prepared for the jaw dropping vividness of life. The clarity in which I see right now is just remarkable. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I’ve gone
from fuzzy black and white to full blown High Definition. Thanks Commonwealth Eye Surgery!!!

I would recommend Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Findley, and their team to anyone. They obviously really care. They understand that anyone who goes into their
office is probably very uptight about having anything done to their eyes. I really liked how calm the Doctors have been in answering any questions and
trying to make sure “uptight” patients like me feel better about what is about to happen. I also believe that they were really really honest with me,
and that’s a good thing. I’m big on that. So, I recommend them highly. I’m feeling lucky to have found them.

My experience with laser surgery at Commonwealth Eye Surgery was nothing but positive. The pre-surgery info was extensive but not overwhelming, the
follow-up care was outstanding and the results were amazing.

I have known about Dr. Ferguson and Commonwealth Eye Surgery for several years now, but have not been able to utilize their services for financial reasons.
I found out recently that my health insurance covers Lasik and PRK surgeries and was thrilled to realize that my husband and I could finally have our
vision corrected surgically. I emailed the Commonwealth Eye Surgery office with several questions regarding my insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
The staff member that replied to my emails was extremely helpful, going above and beyond to find the answers to my questions. We both had our surgeries
last week and I can’t tell you how pleased we are!! My husband had Lasik and I had PRK. The day after the surgery he was seeing 20/15 and hasn’t had any
problems at all! Because the healing time for PRK is different, my vision is not completely corrected, but I am seeing 20/30 (with some fluctuations),
knowing that it should only get better from here!! Thank you, thank you, Commonwealth Eye Surgery – Doctors and Staff – for all of your help! We are
spreading your name far and wide!!

We have seen the Light” are the words that best describe our experience with LASIK surgery from Dr. Ferguson. After observing the remarkable success and
the enthusiasm of patients who have had LASIK surgery, we decided to give this laser vision to each other for Christmas. It was a present that we will
always treasure as we are now free of the burdens involved with contact lens care and glasses. Both my wife, Sheila, and I underwent the painless
procedure to correct our vision and presently we are both 20/20+ in each eye. Dr. Ferguson and his staff were extremely nice and thorough and his
procedure was very gentle to the eye. Instant vision after the 10-minute procedure is totally astounding and unbelievable until you experience it. I would
strongly recommend this procedure by Dr. Ferguson to anyone who is a good candidate.

I didn’t need glasses until I was in college. I blamed it all on the studying. Whether it was for that reason or just age, it was time for me to get
glasses. In addition to feeling awkward wearing them, they were also a pain. They made my make-up glob where they touched my face, got in the way a lot,
and I misplaced them frequently. I didn’t need them to read, so I was constantly taking them on and off. I got contacts and that helped, but I lost a
couple of those, tore others, and had to take them out whenever I fell asleep. I also suffer from allergies and my contacts would get a build-up which was
impossible to clean.I jumped at the chance to have LASIK when Dr. Ferguson told me I was a good candidate. The surgery took only about 30 minutes and the
result was immediate. The next day when I was examined, my eyesight was 20/20. It is wonderful to be able to wake up in the morning and see perfectly, go
swimming and play sports without interference, and just have to fool with sunglasses.Dr. Ferguson performed my LASIK in December 1997. I go back
occasionally for check-ups and my eyesight is still perfect. Dr. Ferguson is an excellent surgeon and a caring person. Your eyesight is something you
don’t want to trust to just anyone-you need someone who is experienced, meticulous, and has an excellent reputation. I would highly recommend Dr.
Ferguson to anyone considering LASIK.

I was near sighted most of my life. I started wearing glasses when I was 8 years old. I started wearing contact lenses when I was 16 years old.
I’m 32 years old now and so had been going between glasses and contacts to see anything for half my life. My near sightedness stabilized at around 20/650.
In layman’s terms, that means I couldn’t focus on the big ‘E’ on the eye chart. Basically, my vision limited the activities that I could do, because if I
didn’t have glasses or contacts on, everything was very blurry. One goal that I was able to accomplish was to become a pilot. I was fortunate that my
vision was correctable to the point of being able to fly. However, without that correction, I couldn’t see to read the instruments in the airplane. I
worried that if something ever happened to my glasses or contacts, I would be in trouble in the air. Then I started hearing about the LASIK surgery, that
it could correct nearsightedness. I knew I couldn’t have it done until it was approved by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). A little over a year
ago, I read that LASIK had been approved by the FAA. I spent several months researching to make sure it really was approved and to find out if I
qualified. Amazingly, I qualified in every category, and with the help of my Optometrist, was referred to Dr. Lance Ferguson. Initially, I hoped to be
corrected well enough, that in an emergency, I would be able to fly and safely land an airplane without corrective lenses. Once I made the decision to get
the surgery done, I was able to get the initial consultation and surgery scheduled quite easily. I received good instruction on what to expect and how to
prepare for the surgery and what to expect afterwards. The surgery took very little time, and I was able to tell improvement almost immediately. Within
20-30 minutes, I could tell my vision had improved dramatically. By the next day, I was able to read 20/20, normal vision! Within a week, I was reading
on the 20/15 line, better than normal vision and definitely better than I had expected! 5 weeks after surgery I was able to obtain a new medical
certificate from an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) and could read the 20/13 line in his office! Incredible! I have now flown without any problems and
actually, I think I am able to fly better than before because my vision is so improved. I’ve had no side effects from the surgery, no problems at all! I
recommend it to anyone who is near sighted and who wants to totally get rid of their glasses and/or contacts! I’m looking forward to this summer and being
able to enjoy swimming and other water sports, because I can see what’s going on around me!
—Angela J. Bridges
Thank you for your kindness the day of my LASIK! I came in very nervous, yet excited! Michelle and Alisa helped me relax from the time I registered.
Thanks to Cindy for answering my many questions. Thanks to Dr. Smith for being so reassuring. Thanks to Dr. Ferguson and the surgery staff who were so
patient, precise and caring. You have all been a miracle in my life and I’ll never forget what you have done for me. My follow-up visit went well today
and I’m already 20/30. It’s hard to believe that I don’t have my contacts in (after 20 years)! I will always be a walking advertisement for you. Thanks
for changing my life!

Since this was the first time I’d ever done anything like this, I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted it to be with someone gentle and
compassionate, someone attuned to my needs; but, above all, it had to be someone with highly refined skills. After all, I wouldn’t trust my eyes to just
anybody. Having my vision corrected with LASIK was a major decision. Finding all these qualities in one doctor made the choice of my eye surgeon easy.
Thank you Dr. Ferguson.

Dear Dr. Ferguson & Staff:
Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you!!! This is the first day after LASIK for me and I am ecstatic!!! Dr. Smith told me this was the best decision he’d ever
made (having LASIK done for himself). Well, you’ve probably already heard that this is my second best decision (marriage to my husband being the first).
Dr. Smith, what can I say? You are the best optometrist I have ever known. You have to keep telling people about your LASIK surgery. It meant a lot to me.
In fact, it really sold me on doing it now rather than wait. I will be doing a “show and tell” for everyone that gets within 5 feet of me. Expect more
clients! Dr. Ferguson, I will be promoting this wonderful procedure to EVERYONE. Yes, I am a happy person because I share what makes me happy with
everyone I meet. Thank you!

Dr. Ferguson, Findley and Staff:
I just wanted to let you know how very much I appreciate you and all your staff. You are all such friendly people. The moment I walked into your office I
felt like I had known each of you for years. Being able to see without glasses is a dream come true to me. I had my surgery on Thursday, December 17, 2000.
What a wonderful Christmas gift that you have given me. I will remember that day for the rest of my life! As soon as the surgery was over I could see. I
could even see the wattage number on the light bulb in the ceiling. Before that, I couldn’t even see the big E on the eye chart! If you remember that day,
you must remember me crying. I felt foolish but I couldn’t hold back the joyous tears. It was truly a miracle. I am 36 years old and had worn glasses
since the 4th grade. I can remember going to bed at night when I was younger and praying to God to just let me wake up one morning able to see. Well, God
answered my prayers. God inspired you all to help Him perform this miracle. I know without God you all couldn’t perform this miracle so thanks for
believing and answering God’s call for you all to do this. You don’t know what it is like to be able to see the clock beside the bed, to go out in the
rain and have it fall on your face without leaving raindrops on your glasses that prevents you from being able to see and the glasses sliding down your
nose. I just want to thank you again with the help of God for giving me back my precious eyesight without the aid of glasses.
—Tina Reynolds
I just wanted to say thanks for the newsletter and for the great success that has come with my eye surgery. LASIK is a terrific way to get back the vision
needed to see the world of beauty around us. I have improved my archery skills greatly, my golf game has improved too because now I can judge distance and
objects much better than before LASIK. Also, my follow up care with my optometrist has been great. Thanks, Dr. Ferguson.
—Refractive Patient
Dear Dr. Ferguson,
Thanks for turning the lights on. I had no idea I had let my vision get so bad. If was such a pleasure to meet you and have such a fun conversation. I
had my first follow up appointment with 20/25 in both eyes. You did a great job!
Sincerely,
—T.B.
