Asim Piracha, MD
Asim Piracha, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Commonwealth Eye Surgery in Lexington, Kentucky. He is an associate professor at the University of Kentucky Department of Ophthalmology and University of Louisville’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He continues to advance his profession, and that of others, by frequently lecturing and publishing articles for ophthalmology publications.
Dr. Piracha is a native of West Virginia where he graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society. He was Senior Chief Resident of Ophthalmology during his residency program at the University of Kentucky.
Upon completion of his residency program at the University of Kentucky, he continued his education with a fellowship at the University of Minnesota where he specialized in cornea, refractive and anterior segment surgery.
Dr. Piracha is dedicated to his patients and improving their quality of life.
He spends his downtime with his wife and their two children and enjoys playing tennis.
