Fun Facts About LASIK and Your Eyes
January 14, 2013Understanding LASIK with Commonwealth Eyes
February 11, 2013Have you been told that your cornea is too thin? Or that your eyes are just “too bad” to qualify for LASIK? If you’ve been turned away or have been scared away by articles online, come see us at Commonwealth Eyes Surgery. Things have changed drastically in the last few years and patients who may not have qualified in the past are now finding out that the freedom of LASIK is available to them.
One of the most exciting developments in our practice was the addition of the Ziemer FEMTO LDV Femtosecond Laser, which allows us to treat a wider variety of LASIK candidates.
There are three kinds of refractive vision disorders that can be corrected or improved by LASIK: nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism.
There is also presbyopia (aging related vision loss). If you currently wear glasses due to this condition, you may still need to use reading glasses after LASIK surgery but we have had success working with patients who suffer from a broad range of conditions and degrees of vision loss. The best way to find out if you’re a candidate is to schedule a free evaluation but if you want to get an idea now, complete our online questionnaire or give us a call at (859) 224-2655 to discuss your situation. We’re always happy to answer your questions. We’ve helped over 70,000 people in the Commonwealth and we’d love to help you too.
