The Future of Cataract Surgery: RxSight Light Adjustable Lens (LAL)
September 12, 2023
At Commonwealth Eye Surgery (CES), our team is not just a group of professionals working together; we are a family bound by a shared passion for eyecare and a commitment to positively impacting our patients’ lives. Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to not one but two remarkable members of our Technician team whose journeys are nothing short of inspiring.
Frances Miller: A Journey of Passion and Perseverance
You may already be familiar with Frances Miller, a vibrant and dedicated Technician who has brought immeasurable joy to our CES family. Frances’s journey from reliable Technician to future optometrist is a story of passion and determination that inspires us all.
Her dedication to helping patients extends far beyond our office walls, as she has actively participated in the Remote Area Medical (RAM) program, providing critical medical eyecare to underserved populations in Appalachia. Frances’s heart for service is commendable and a testament to her character.
Before her time at CES, Frances embarked on medical missions in Nicaragua and Honduras, where she made a difference in the lives of communities in need. These experiences ignited a passion within her for healthcare, setting the stage for her future endeavors.
Frances’s journey at CES began with a clear goal: to gain valuable experience in ophthalmology as she prepared for medical school. However, fate had a different plan for her. With each passing day, Frances discovered her true calling—optometry.
After graduating in June 2022, Frances took it upon herself to study diligently, excel in her tests, and navigate the often challenging interview process. Her hard work paid off, as she received exciting offers from renowned optometry programs, paving the way for a bright future as Dr. Miller.
Christelle Ngoba: A Multilingual Marvel
But the celebration doesn’t stop there. We are equally proud to introduce Christelle, another exceptional Technician team member. Christelle’s journey is marked by excellence, diversity, and an unwavering commitment to her dreams.
Hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Africa, Christelle is a shining example of perseverance and dedication. She graduated from the University of Kentucky (UK), having completed her undergraduate studies early and taking college-level courses in high school. Her academic achievements speak volumes about her dedication to her education.
What makes Christelle genuinely remarkable is her ability to communicate in not one, not two, but three languages. Her multilingual prowess reflects her diverse background and ability to connect with various patients. In our office, she is not just a Technician; she is a dedicated team member who shows up with her sunny disposition, works hard to help patients, and is committed to helping her co-workers.
And the most exciting news? Christelle’s hard work, determination, and dedication have paid off in a big way. She has been accepted into an optometry school, further solidifying her path towards becoming an optometrist. We couldn’t be more excited or proud to watch her embark on this new chapter of her journey.
Celebrating Excellence
At CES, our team is what sets us apart from other practices. Frances and Christelle’s journey reminds us that our team has exceptional healthcare professionals and individuals with unique skills and personalities who help us deliver outstanding surgical eye care.
As Frances Miller and Christelle take steps toward their respective futures in optometry, we share their excitement and anticipation. We are privileged to witness their growth and the positive impact they will undoubtedly have on the eyecare field.
Congratulations, Frances and Christelle, on your remarkable achievements, and we loved celebrating you (with alcohol-free bubbly, of course!). Your CES family stands beside you, eager to support your continued success in optometry. Together, we look forward to the bright future you both have, and we can’t wait to see the incredible difference you’ll make in the lives of countless patients.
