LASIK is a household name and almost everyone knows someone who has had the elective procedure to help reduce one’s dependency on glasses or contacts.  Google, Twitter, Facebook and blogs are great avenues for educating yourselves about the procedure, as well as, about potential surgeons and centers.  We cannot stress the importance of discussing the decision to have LASIK surgery with your local eye doctor prior to actually having the procedure.  Your local eye doctor sees the results from most surgeons in the area and won’t hesitate to tell you where they would refer their friends and family.  You owe it to your eyes to do the research.  They deserve the best!
