The RLE Procedure: What to Expect
Prior to your RLE surgery, you will have a comprehensive examination and with meet with our experts to determine if you’re a good candidate and answer any questions. We will explain the treatment in detail and guide you through the pre- and post-operative process.
RLE Surgery Step-By-Step
STEP ONE
Typically taking 15 minutes to perform, anesthetic eye drops are used to numb the eye and you will be given IV sedation.
STEP TWO
The inflexible natural lens is gently removed.
STEP THREE
A flexible Advanced IOL is folded up and inserted into the lens capsule in place of where your natural lens used to be.
